A New Culture of Learning

For those who have studied education, as well as for those embarking on the grand adventure of becoming a good teacher, maintaining a teaching dynamic that adapts to the daily demands of students is challenging. The new generations of students propose and demand new techniques and strategies to keep them motivated, guide them towards independent learning, and encourage constant growth in their thinking. This eportfolio has served me to gradually document part of my ideas and projects, outlining what I will be implementing and what, based on the results I obtain, I will change. Therefore, I present my first proposal to create a new learning environment

Creating My Learning Philosophy

The world of education is a box of surprises. Within a classroom, there is a universe of philosophies that every teacher must try to identify and understand to be able to guide and facilitate the path to learning for each student. For me, understanding the meaning of each philosophy was a new contribution to my professional growth. Subsequently, researching and learning about new currents, such as connectivist philosophy, made me realize that learning is a continuous process for both students and teachers. Through innovation and the creation of a meaningful learning environment, I seek to prepare students to face challenges in an ever-evolving world. I invite you to read more about the origin of this reflection and further details about my learning philosophy.

How to design our lessons?

Lesson planning is part of the teacher's responsibilities. It may seem like a simple task of filling in spaces with information already standardized by the school district. However, for me, it is a whole science. Finding the tool that suits the unique needs of each teacher, as well as its applicability, is also an area of opportunity. In the following link, I present two options I used to plan the activities necessary to achieve the goal of having my students master reading skills. One of them is Fink's 3 Column Table, and the other is Wiggins & McTighe's Understanding by Design. The latter seemed more convenient for my lessons. In the link, I provide detailed reasons for why I think this way.
